Don lucas cigars are a type of cigar that is sometimes not easily found – especially when shopping online. They have a few different series including the gold series, pearl series, premium series as well as the ultra premium series, and are based out of the Dominican Republic.
One thing you may not know about the don lucas cigars company is that within their ultra premium line they’ve included cognac as well as cigars! Not many other cigar companies do that, which I think is kind of cool.
And if you’re ever in Punta Cana, you may want to check out their exclusive cigar lounge – which is by appointment only! What a great place to sit back and relax while having a cigar and maybe a glass of their ultra premium cognac.

So What Do Don Lucas Cigars Taste Like?

Most don lucas cigars are on the more mild side. I’ve heard one person say they weren’t quite as harsh as a Montecristo #2 cigar, if that helps you out. The take wasn’t left bitter afterwords and the smoke seemed to be pretty consistent all the way through.
Plus the cigar itself burned pretty evenly all the way until the end. This may be caused by a knowing and understand of how to light and smoke a cigar by the user, or may be a result of good wrapping of the cigar!
You could probably find don lucas cigars in your local area if you have a cigar shop around, or maybe even ask the owner to purchase some for you if you really want to try them out. I wish they were a little more well known but unfortunately they’re not.
But that’s ok – at least now you know that if you ever come across them – they’re a worthy cigar to pick up!

I had the opportunity to vist Lucas de Meester at his during my vacation in Punta Cana. He picked me up from my hotel and brought me to his cigar lounge, which is part of his house. It was a very enjoyable experience and the cigar was excellent. Not only is the quality excellent, but the price is great. We had a great conversation and it was one of the highlights of my vacation. After I finished my cigar, Lucas drove me back to my hotel. And he gave me a different cigar to try later afer dinner. He is a very genial host.
